A stroke can be life changing. However, you and your loved ones can learn to cope. Join other stroke survivors and their families to share experiences, support one another in challenges, and explore stroke resources.

Survivor Support Groups

Adjusting to life after a stroke can be challenging, but the support of those who are going through similar experiences can be helpful. Come learn tips, find resources and share concerns with other stroke survivors. Open to stroke survivors, caregivers and loved ones.


Roper Rehabilitation Stroke Support Group

When: First Thursday monthly
Where: Roper Rehabilitation Hospital, 316 Calhoun Street, Charleston SC 29401. 3 Pettit Rehab Gym (take E elevators, located near the Emergency Room)
Time: 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Groups alternate between in-person and virtual sessions

Lowcountry Support group

When: Third Thursday monthly
Where: Encompass Health Rehab Hospital
Time: 5:30 - 6:30p.m.

Trident Medical Center Community Stroke Support Group

When: First Wednesday of each month from 5:30-6:30
Location: Trident Hospital (First floor) in Café A

Neuro Caregiver Support Group

When: Second Tuesday of each month from 6:30-7:30pm
Location: Virtual meetings via Zoom
