Gynecological Care
Our gynecologists help guide their patients through the phases of womanhood. From pap smears and breast exams to menopausal support and gynecological procedures, including the full range of surgical GYN procedures such as hysterectomy, you can count on your Roper St. Francis Physician Partners OB/GYN for thorough care and trusted support.
Robotic Gynecological Surgery
Robotic surgery can be an excellent alternative for many gynecological procedures. In many cases, your surgeon can access the target anatomy using a vaginal approach, which often requires no external incision. In cases when robotic incisions are made, they are tiny, which generally leads to reduced pain, faster recovery and shorter hospital stays.
Gynecologic conditions frequently treated with robotic surgery:
- Endometriosis
- Hysterectomies
- Uterine cancer
- Uterine fibroids
- Uterine prolapse
- Menorrhagia or excessive bleeding
Obstetrical Care
Our obstetrics doctors believe in creating personal relationships with their expectant mothers. From your earliest days of pregnancy through delivery and recovery, our doctors are committed to making your child's birth a safe and memorable experience for you and your family.
CenteringPregnancy®
The CenteringPregnancy model of care brings together small groups of expectant mothers who have similar due dates with an OB/GYN doctor to learn from one another. Mothers have 10 prenatal gatherings lasting between 1 1/2 to 2 hours, giving women more time with their providers. By providing access to innovative, patient-centered care, OB/GYNs can improve outcomes for mother and baby.
Preventing preterm and low birth weight deliveries lowers the risks of life-threatening health problems and developmental delays. This national model, studied for more than 20 years, has been proven successful in decreasing disparities in birthing outcomes in high-risk groups of patients and increasing breastfeeding rates and the well-being of moms.
