Public invited to tour renovated labor and delivery unit at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital
The public is invited to tour Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital’s newly renovated labor and delivery unit and level II nursery.
Public tours will be held Monday, March 14 from 2 – 4 p.m.
This is the first major renovation project of its Labor and Delivery unit since the hospital opened in West Ashley in 1996.
The beautifully updated space includes 11 large labor and delivery rooms designed to create a comfortable and relaxing experience for new mothers, their babies and loved ones. The brightly lit rooms average around 400 square feet and ensure plenty of room for families and their care team.
“There is plenty of room for mom, her support person and her expansive care team,” said Gretchen Morin, associate vice president and chief administrative officer of Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital. “The rooms promote safety, quality care and the ultimate patient experience.”
In addition, the hospital has the ability to incorporate low-intervention births and all labor and delivery rooms have spa-like bathrooms and state-of-the art labor support equipment. The reconfigured nursery provides increased privacy for families while they care for their babies born at or after 32 weeks and who weigh more than 3.3 pounds.
During the tours, the hospital team will monitor the flow of guests through the new unit to ensure the safety of our patients and community. There will be no access to the rest of the hospital. Masks will be required.
