Volunteer for Hospice

Roper Hospice has a place and a need for you. Whether you choose to work directly with patients and families or offer other support, you can make a difference in someone’s life, even your own.

Ways that you can help include:

  • Support to patients and families in their home
  • Administrative support in our hospice office
  • Visit or call bereaved families
  • Assist with fundraising or other events

Our Program

Training

All hospice volunteers will receive specialized training to develop the skills you will need to work with hospice patients and their families or in the hospice office.

Time and Location

Each volunteer is free to choose how much time they would like to give in the geographic area that works best for them. Volunteers usually create a regular schedule of availability, but some prefer to be available to fill in as needed.

Benefits of Volunteering

The volunteer’s gift of time and talents fills the gap between loved ones and professional caregivers. Hospice volunteers have the pleasure of knowing they have made a real difference in someone’s life.
