Advanced technology and treatments at Roper St. Francis

The Heart Valve Program at Roper St. Francis Healthcare offers the most advanced treatments for mitral and aortic valve disease, including minimally invasive procedures. Our program is one of a select few in South Carolina with the expertise to perform minimally invasive surgery for heart valve repairs.

We also offer the latest catheter procedures, such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and MitraClip®. In catheter procedures, the doctor guides a thin tube (catheter) from a vein or artery in your leg to reach your heart and implant a device.

Our expertise in all minimally invasive procedures enables us to determine which minimally invasive options will be most effective for each patient, while ensuring the fastest possible recovery. If a minimally invasive procedure cannot successfully treat your condition, we’re also experts in traditional open surgery.
