While working directly with her teammates on process improvements and nursing policies, Amanda realized her passion for leadership and wanted to do more at Roper St. Francis to make sure patients receive the best possible care from the nursing department. She wondered what it would be like to further her education so that she could advance her career. At the time, she had an associate degree in nursing.
“As a working mother with two kids at home, including one in college, the thought of taking on any additional educational expenses seemed like a barrier to my professional advancement. But learning about the scholarships and tuition reimbursement offered by the Roper St. Francis Foundation eased my financial concerns and gave me the push I needed to get back to school.”
Through the Roper St. Francis Foundation’s Nursing Scholarship Program, Amanda received support to make her dream of earning an advanced degree a reality. Amanda completed her Master of Science and is now a Clinical Manager, ensuring patients receive excellent care each and every day.
Thanks to your support, the Nursing Scholarship Program gave Amanda the confidence to advance her career at Roper St. Francis and become a leader in her department. She is currently working on a Doctorate in Nursing Practice with a focus on Healthcare Systems Leadership. “After 12 years with Roper St. Francis, I appreciate the support available to teammates like me who want to advance our education. I look forward to continuing to serve the hospital's mission for years to come!”
Thanks to donors, 49 nurses were able to advance their education through scholarships in 2022.
