Roper St. Francis Healthcare is honored to help support other organizations that promote health and serve our community, so that together we are able to make a difference in the lives of people, and in particular the underserved, in our community.
The IRS has specific guidelines for nonprofit health systems on how community investment funds are spent and what is considered charitable. These changes started in 2016, and below are the guidelines to help community organizations understand what is now required of Roper St. Francis for community investment opportunities.
For previous recipients, there is now a brief progress report at the end of the application that is required to remain eligible for future funding.
As a reminder, organizations must meet the following IRS guideline requirements to be eligible for a potential funding opportunity:
- Must be a 501(c)(3)
- Must be working to positively impact a prioritized need identified in our 2022 Community Health Needs Assessment
- Funds must be directed to program services rather than fundraising events
- Request cannot have a primary marketing purpose
- Must have a health tie-in
*This year’s funding Cycle will be paid in two installments. The first installment will be paid between January-February. The second installment will be paid after a satisfactory mid-year progress report. If the requirements are not reported or the organization fails to provide a progress report, Roper St. Francis Healthcare will not process the second installment. Please initial below for agreement.
**By accepting funding from Roper St. Francis Healthcare’s Community Investments, you are waiving your right to submit event and fundraising requests made through our RSFH marketing sponsorship application.
