Thank you volunteers!
Betty Saulisbury is a Roper Hospital legend. When she started volunteering with us, Elvis was still alive and this little thing called the internet that you're looking at this story with wasn't even around.
We have around 450 volunteers throughout our healthcare system doing everything from clerical work to assisting with patient and family needs. Volunteers enable us to dedicate our resources to patient care as the top priority. We're always looking for people who want to assist us in delivering compassionate care for all, please call (843) 724-2080 for more information.
Watch this special feature on Betty by Live 5 News. Betty also got a special call on her final day at Roper from her favorite news anchor, Bill Sharpe. She says she was so thrilled to hear that legendary Lowcountry voice right on her phone!
