Roper St. Francis Healthcare offers telemedicine to all patients
CHARLESTON, SC – Roper St. Francis Healthcare is implementing telemedicine in all of its physician practices for scheduled patients whose clinical needs can be met remotely.
To keep patients safe and to curtail the spread of COVID-19, physicians are reaching out to patients who have appointments and asking whether they would like to see a doctor from the comfort of their own homes. Primary and specialty care physicians will see patients virtually, conduct clinical reviews and prescribe medications as needed.
This benefit to the community goes into effect immediately for all Roper St. Francis Physician Partners specialties for which patients’ clinical needs can be met.
Roper St. Francis Physician Partners office staff are contacting scheduled patients and confirming they are interested in having a virtual visit as well as ensuring they have the required equipment and support for a successful virtual visit.
This change is in accordance with the recently released CMS guidelines and an effort to keep patients in the safety of their homes while enabling them to have face-to-face interaction with their physicians.
