“These hospitals are renowned for clinical excellence, patient safety, innovation efforts, research and education, patient satisfaction and more,” according to Becker’s. “Top ranking and award agencies, including U.S. News & World Report, Healthgrades, CMS and The Leapfrog Group, have recognized these hospitals for their leadership in the industry and their excellence in several specialties.”

The America’s Best Cancer Hospitals ranking was created to provide patients and family members with a comprehensive resource for informed decision making. The underlying data analysis is based on three data sources:
- Nationwide Online Survey: Healthcare professionals and hospital managers with knowledge about oncology e.g., oncologists, hematologists, and oncology nurses were asked to recommend leading cancer hospitals in the US.
- Hospital Quality Metric: Hospital quality metrics with a focus on indicators relevant to oncology care were considered.
- Results from Patient Surveys: Publicly available data from hospital patient surveys were used to analyze patient experience.
