Friday Night Social

Music, food, dancing, and a good time. This is a potluck event on Fridays, September  19 and October 31, 6-8 p.m. October's event is themed a Halloween Monster Mash, where members are open to dress up. Friday Night Socials are for members only, nonmembers must be accompanied by a member. Call to register at 762-9555 and find out what you are to bring!

Welcome Session

Hear directly from staff, volunteers, and other members about the center. It’s the ideal time to ask questions and give us feedback. We encourage both new and longstanding members to attend. Includes coffee and donuts. Fridays, September 19 and October 17, 9-10 a.m.  Members only.

The Birthday Celebration

Join our great tradition of wishing “happy birthday” to our friends during a pot-luck lunch. Everyone brings a covered-dish to share. Please ask what type of food you should bring when you register. We kindly request that your dishes be table-ready with serving utensils. Thursdays, September 25 and October 23, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Nonmembers must accompany a member.

Afternoon High Tea & Desserts

This is a delightful program where you can  enjoy tea and desserts with friends at the center. Tea is provided and you bring a favorite dessert to share! Tuesdays, September 2 and 16 and October 7 and 21, 2-3 p.m. Free for members. Members only.

Blues Concert

The blues are coming to the senior center again this fall. Local bluesman, Gary Irwin, also known as Shrimp City Slim and Dr. Pickup perform at the center on Wednesday, October 1, 6-8 p.m. If you love the blues and blues-based original songs brimming with vitality, real commitment, and a sense of humor come to this special event! Tickets are $5 for members and nonmembers. You are welcome to bring your own beer or wine.

Singles Night

The singles group is a great opportunity to socialize with new people. This group meets offsite in September and October. In September they will meet at Mimi's at Creekside located on Harbor View Road Thursday, September 18, 5:30 p.m. and on Thursday, October 15, 5:30 p.m. at the Charleston Crab House on James Island. Call the center if you plan to attend so we can reserve the appropriate seating. Participants provide their own transportation and pay for their own dinner.

Organ Concert

Join us on Friday, September 19 at 2:30 p.m. to hear music from Judy Cone, Senior Adult Music Education Specialist with Fox Music playing songs you know and love. Free for members and nonmembers.

Olde Pipes Consort Concert

The center's own Olde Pipes Consort will be playing a special concert on Friday, September 26, 2:30 p.m. This event is free for members and nonmembers.
