Friends of the Center is the fundraising arm of the Lowcountry Senior Center. It is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Friends of the Center sponsor special events throughout the year to raise funds in support of operations and capital projects of the Center. We are currently fundraising to develop the grounds of the center creating an outdoor activity area with a walking trail, horseshoe pit, picnic gazebo and other venues.
Annual Giving Campaign
We had such a good result with our Annual Giving Campaign (AGC) in 2007 that we want to build upon the success in 2008. The membership dues do not cover the full cost of operating the Lowcountry Senior Center, so fundraising is a must. Through the AGC, Festival of Wreaths and other fundraising events, we help to bridge this gap. Hopefully, in this election year, you will enthusiatically vote to support our center by making a tax deductive contrubution to the 2008 AGC. Please call the senior center to have an AGC form mailed to you today at (843) 762-9555.
Suntrust Checking Fundraiser
Did you know if you open a free checking account with Suntrust Bank they will give $100 dolloars to the senior center? All you have to do is open a new personal or business checking account by September 30, 2008, accept a SunTrust Check Card, make any purchase using your new card by November 15, 2008, and complete and submit a redemption form by November 15, 2008. It's really that simple and then the Lowcountry Senior Center can get a $100 dollar donation from Suntrust.
Festival of Wreaths
The Lowcountry Senior Center's Festival of Wreaths is our premier fundraising event held annually in for three-weeks in November and December. Beautifully decorated wreaths adorn the walls of the senior center as part of our three-week silent auction of wreaths. Plus there's serveral special events and preformances for anyone to enjoy. We are currently seeking sponsors for the Festival of Wreaths. For more information, please contact Elizabeth Bernat, Director of Leisure & Learning at (843) 762-9555.
