Roper and St. Francis pharmacies will
provide safe and effective pharmaceuticals
and pharmaceutical care to patients throughout
life -- from newborn to geriatric services.
In addition, the pharmacies are committed
to maintaining employee competency and
fiscal responsibility while providing high
quality services and care to all patients
in a timely manner.
The most familiar role of a hospital pharmacy
is that of distributing medications to inpatients.
At Roper and St. Francis, however, the pharmacy
goes above and beyond this function. Pharmacy
Services also compounds medications, provides
guidance to the clinicians prescribing and
administering medications, helps to educate
patients about their pharmaceutical therapy,
participates in Clinical Research, and performs
clinical and managerial duties to ensure
that the facilities are providing the highest
level of pharmaceutical care and is making
the best use of its pharmaceutical resources.
To meet the scope and complexity of patient
care needs, pharmacy services are supported
by pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and
other supportive personnel 24 hours a day,
7 days a week at all facilities.
