Community Clergy
Community clergy are encouraged to continue their pastoral relationship with their members by visiting them when they are hospitalized. Patient room numbers may be obtained at the Information Desk near the main entrance in each hospital. The Clergy ID Badge system is administered by the Pastoral Care Department on behalf of all Charleston area hospitals. Contact the Pastoral Care Department to obtain a badge application.
- Identification. Badges are issued at Roper Hospital and are honored by all the hospitals in the Charleston area. The badge entitles the clergy person to free parking at all area hospitals while visiting their members. Contact the Pastoral Care Secretary at 402-1124 to obtain an application form.
- Visiting Hours. Normal visiting hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. In crisis situations, clergy (with appropriate identification) are usually allowed to visit briefly during other times as well, subject to the medical needs of the patient or circumstances on the unit.
- Patient Information. The Information Desk at St. Francis is located at the main entrance. At Roper Hospital the Information Desk is in the main corridor leading from the parking garages.
At Roper Hospital, clergy should park in the Lucas Street Garage (corner of Lucas and Calhoun) and at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital there are designated clergy parking spaces near the main entrance. |
