Area’s First: RSFH Earns Cycle 2 Chest Pain Center Accreditation
Roper St. Francis Healthcare is the first in the Carolina Lowcountry and the second in our state to be honored with Cycle II Chest Pain Center accreditation. We are among only 100 facilities in the nation to be awarded this distinction from the Society of Chest Pain Centers. Our first Chest Pain Center accreditation (Cycle I) was received in 2004. Each subsequent cycle raises the bar and requires that the provider meet even higher standards, criteria and performance.
The Society of Chest Pain Centers provides accreditation to facilities striving for optimum Chest Pain Center care. The accreditation process ensures centers meet or exceed quality-of-care measures in acute cardiac medicine.
“The Chest Pain Center at Roper St. Francis Healthcare has demonstrated its expertise and commitment to quality patient care by meeting or exceeding a wide set of stringent criteria and completing on-site evaluations by one of our review teams,” according to the Society of Chest Pain Centers.
Established in 1998, the Society is dedicated to patient advocacy and focusing on ischemic heart disease. The Society promotes protocol-based medicine to address the diagnosis and treatment of acute coronary syndromes, heart failure, and to promote the adoption of process improvement science by healthcare providers. SCPC is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.
