RSFH Makes Top 100 in Modern Healthcare
The 2007 rankings for the Top 100 Best Performing Integrated Healthcare Networks (IHNs) in the U.S. are now in...
Modern Healthcare earlier today announced Verispan's annual ranking of the Top 100 Integrated Health Networks (IHN’s) in the nation. Despite a very competitive field, Roper St. Francis Healthcare rose two spots to #61. RSFH is the highest-ranking SC health system and one of only two in the state to make the Top 100. Greenville Hospital System ranked 83rd.
"This honor is truly a credit to the tremendous efforts of our employees, physicians, and board members" said David L. Dunlap, President and Chief Executive Officer for RSFH. "It reflects and reinforces our mission of providing the best quality of care to the communities we serve."
Congratulations also go to Carolinas Health System, a founding member of RSFH, on ranking 16th in the nation.
According to the article, landing a spot among the nation’s most-integrated health networks got a little harder for this year’s ranking. The healthcare industry’s strong finances, a growing move toward disease management and investment in information technology buoyed scores across the board—and boosted some organizations significantly—in an annual ranking of healthcare’s most efficient, best-performing networks by Yardley, Pa.-based Verispan, a healthcare data and consulting firm.
The ranking, now in its 10th year, grades networks on integration using a 100-point scale based on health systems’ operations, clinical quality, efficiency and breadth of services. This year’s crowded field of strong contenders raised the bar for those hoping to land among the top 100, and left less room between top-scoring systems.
