Roper St. Francis Buys Land For New Facility Hospital Officials Take Next Step Toward Mount Pleasant Hospital
Roper St. Francis Healthcare (RSFH) is one step closer to building a new full service hospital in Mount Pleasant. Earlier today, hospital officials completed the purchase of $15 million, 78-acre parcel of land located in the Carolina Park Development at the intersection of Highway 17 North at Faison Road adjacent to Wando High School.
“We’re moving ahead and look forward to making this new hospital a reality, “ said David L. Dunlap, President and Chief Executive Officer for RSFH.
Roper St. Francis officials say next steps include the completion of detailed architectural drawings to be followed by a groundbreaking in March 2007. The new hospital is slated to open in November 2010.
"Carolina Park is pleased to provide the newest home for Roper St. Francis Healthcare," said David Peter from Carolina Park. "Our community is planned and designed to allow seamless living - work, recreation, education and now high quality healthcare - in one green, modern setting."
The new Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant Hospital, a 250,000 sq. ft., $143 million facility, will include:
- 85 inpatient beds
- 24-hour Emergency Care
- Women's Services
- Inpatient and Outpatient Surgery
- Intensive and Critical Care Units
- Imaging, Laboratory and Pharmacy
